Soften Sleep ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Soften Sleep mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Subscription Information: When you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information.

1.2 Information Automatically Collected

  • Usage Data: We collect anonymized analytics about how you use the App, including session counts, feature usage, and interaction patterns. This data does not identify you personally.
  • Device Information: Basic device information (iOS version, device model) to ensure compatibility and optimize performance.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information as part of in-app analytics
  • We do not collect health data or sleep tracking data
  • We do not access your camera, photo library, or location
  • We do not collect microphone recordings or speech transcriptions

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App's functionality
  • Process subscription payments through Apple's App Store
  • Improve the App based on anonymized usage patterns
  • Ensure technical compatibility with your device
  • Provide customer support when you contact us

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 On-Device Storage

Soften stores your in-app preferences and session history locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

  • Can be exported at any time via Settings → Export on-device data
  • Can be deleted at any time via Settings → Delete on-device data
  • Is protected by iOS encryption and your device passcode
  • Is removed when you uninstall the App from that device

Some anonymous service data may also be processed by third-party providers for subscriptions and optional analytics, as described in Section 4.

3.2 Microphone and Voice Data

The current version of Soften does not include microphone recording or speech transcription features:

  • No microphone recordings are captured by the app
  • No speech transcriptions are created by the app
  • No voice data is transmitted to our servers or third parties

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Apple App Store

Subscription purchases and management are handled by Apple. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to payment processing: apple.com/legal/privacy

4.2 RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives:

  • Anonymous device identifiers (not linked to personal information)
  • Subscription status and purchase events
  • Basic device information (iOS version, app version)

4.3 Analytics

When enabled, we collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the App. No directly identifying information (such as name or email) is collected through in-app analytics.

You can disable anonymous analytics in Settings at any time to stop future analytics collection.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Data Access and Export

You can export on-device data at any time via Settings → Export on-device data. This generates a JSON file containing your locally stored preferences and session history.

5.2 Data Deletion

You can delete on-device data at any time via Settings → Delete on-device data. This action is immediate and irreversible for data stored on your device.

If anonymous analytics was previously enabled, disabling analytics stops future analytics collection but may not remove previously processed anonymous historical events.

5.3 Permissions

  • The current version does not require microphone or speech recognition permissions.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect information from children. We do not collect personal information from any users, regardless of age.

7. International Users

7.1 GDPR (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under GDPR, including:

  • Right to access your on-device data (via Export on-device data)
  • Right to delete your on-device data (via Delete on-device data)
  • Right to data portability for on-device data (via Export on-device data)

7.2 CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information. You can manage on-device data in Settings and contact support with privacy questions.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Displaying an in-app notification when you open the App after an update

Soften Sleep is a general wellness application designed to support relaxation and sleep. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, disorder, or medical condition.
